Tears, is an installation that articulates my on-going feelings for my nieces and nephews who live overseas. In creating this misty space, I constructed a 2.5meter tall structure containing vertical flow of tears made out of these children’s clothes in space, where I can embrace these children to be closed to me in my sorrow. Objects beyond this intimate space were mystified and merged in the white textured surrounding. They were intended to project the real physical distance between the children and myself from within an enclosed experience. It is a space between the reality and my inner self. This imaginary space allows me to deliver my constant emotional relief through love and longing – a process that ponders the connection to people in my life, especially my loved ones. |
