Encounter is a site-specific project located in Tasmania. This work is triggered by the lonely nights spent with the moon in the Tasmania sky. These experiences aroused my emotions connecting to home in Singapore. A moon-like sculpture was created and released on the Tasmania waterfront during the night as I waited for the moon. The act is to create a poetic encounter between the sculpture and the moon through its reflection. It is a metaphor of unifying self with home. This work explores imaginary spaces referencing the moon that is believed to be shining upon home. Lights from surrounding houses along the waterfront are corresponded as family warmth – a connection to happiness. |
